QWE2002 involved over 60 Conference Presentations and over 40 full
technical papers included in the Conference CD-ROM. Two very
special QWE2002 Awards went to the winning participant:

Best Paper Award
|
The members of the QWE2002 Advisory Board
selected the QWE2002 Best Paper Award, whose author(s)
received a cash prize of $1000.
|
Best Presentation Award
|
QWE2002 attendees voted for the QWE2002 Best Presentation
Award, and the presenter was invited to give the same
presentation at QW2002 in San Francisco, CA in September 2002.

Here are the QWE2002 Best
Paper and QWE2002 Best Presentation Results.
This year the Advisory Board's votes resulted in a tie for first place and the Advisory Board recommended
to honor two presentations as the co-Best Papers of QWE2002.
The Co-Best Paper
Award, which carries a cash prize of $500, was awarded to Dr. Christian Bunse & Dr. Oliver Laitenberger
(Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering, Germany) for their paper (8T)
"Improving Component Quality Through the Systematic Combination of Construction and Analysis".
The Co-Best Paper
Award, which carries a cash prize of $500, was awarded to Mr. Guillermo Pastor
(INAD, Spain) & Prof. Antonio de Amescua (Carlos III University of Madrid, Spain) for their paper (12I)
"Web Development: A New Quality Paradigm".
QWE2002 attendees cast their ballots and the QWE2002 support team totaled them during the final Plenary Session.
The Best Presentation Award, which includes a certificate and
an invitation to present the same talk at QW2002, went to
Mr. Michael Hillelsohn (Software Performance Systems, USA) for his talk (6M)
"Using SPICE as an Internal Software Engineering Process Improvement Tool
".

as voted by the advisory board, went to Mr.
Nikhil Nilakantan (Hewlett Packard) & Mr. Ibrahim K. El-Far (Florida Tech) for their paper
"Why is API Testing Different (4W1)".

Presentation Award, as voted by the attendees, went to
Dr. Linda Rosenberg (NASA GSFC). Linda will be presenting her talk,
"Independent Verification And Validation Implementation At NASA
(5P1)," at QWE2002, being
held in Brussels, Belgium on 11-15 March 2002. Congratulations
to both!
